“Choosing Playing XI with Virat back #INDvNZ,” Jaffer wrote in a post on microblogging. Jaffer’s tweet immediately became a hit with fans of the Indian cricket team. Jaffer’s tweet came after the former Indian leader said that either Ajinkya Rahane or Mayank Agarwal would pave the way for Kohli in the series decision between New Zealand and host India.
“It’s a reversal between Mayank Agarwal and Ajinkya Rahane. I would think of these two. This is the reversal that Virat Kohli has to do. Either he wants to go with Mayank Agarwal and give him one more time either [he thinks] Ajinkya Rahane has not had enough runs in his last 10-12 Test races after this Melbourne Test, so he is out. It’s a difficult call, definitely a difficult call. “It depends on who the sword falls on,” said Jaffer ESPNCricinfo in view of the 2nd test.
The second test of the bilateral series will mark the return of Captain Kohli, who recently resigned as Team India T20I captain after an unforgettable campaign at ICC World T20 2021. Shreyas Iyer’s blockbuster debut at Kanpur Test also featured Team India headache of choice. The decision of the series between Team India led by Kohli and Williamson New Zealand will compete in the famous Wankhede on Friday.
