Nearly 30 years after the audience first caught a glimpse of Jurassic Park, the original cast finally returned for the latest film in this franchise era.
Among them is Oscar-winning Laura Dern, whose character Dr Ellie Satler is beloved as a feminist action hero.
“The fact that the character gained more than a quality of life in terms of influence for many young girls in particular, but also for boys, in the years that the film was released, inspired me,” he said. Sky News.
“She’s a member of the US Congress [said] to me: “You know, Eli Sutler was my feminist hero and when I heard her say that women inherit the Earth, I thought I was going to study political science. [political science]I’m going to Washington, DC. ‘
“It’s unbelievable that Steven’s movie [Spielberg] work and being part of it could affect such people. “
It’s not just the characters that have inspired – for the younger members of the cast, it was a pleasure to share the screen with the old guard.
“They are also at the top of their cast as actors,” said Bryce Dallas Howard, who is returning as former park manager Claire Deering. “They are at their peak and I think this is something that as an actor, it was such a gift to be able to watch it.
“It was so inspiring to see that because it was not like they were coming in and saying the lines, they had full ownership of these characters.”
Jurassic World Dominion is the third film in the Jurassic World trilogy, starring Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt, which began in 2015 – after the original Jurassic Park trilogy that began with Dern, Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum in 1993.
It was shot extensively in the United Kingdom and was one of the first productions to reopen after the first lockdown.
A hotel was hired for the cast and crew to live like a bubble, an experience Goldblum says he will stay with.
“It’s a disturbing, upsetting, tragic time – and for us, a time of opportunity and mixed emotions, you can imagine. But with the opportunity to be together and protect ourselves from the new protocols pioneered by Alexandra Derbyshire, one of our British women. the producers and Pat Crowley, it was wonderful, but painful and exciting and unforgettable. “
Indeed, Goldblum credits the groups here that made it to the big screen and says he wants to live here sometime.
“This was essentially a British show and thanks to them we did it. Thanks to their heroism and fearless endurance.
“I had a great time here – I love England and would like to move here for a while.”
The latest blockbuster to hit theaters again this summer, the film is described as the last Jurassic Park to date – but if it wins big tickets, it’s unlikely the franchise will be gone for long.
Jurassic Park Dominion is now available in cinemas in the United Kingdom
