Jurassic World: Dominion’s Colin Trevorrow explains how the film balances new and old characters

And somehow, the Jurassic World trilogy is coming to a conclusion with Sovereignty just a few years after The franchise made a big splash with Colin Trevorrow’s film. You feel like yesterday, but life finds a way, you know? The upcoming blockbuster is unique because it will unite the new Jurassic World characters with the original Jurassic Park trio of Dr. Alan Grant of Sam Neill, of Dr. Ian Malcolm of Jeff Goldblum and Dr. Ellie Sattler by Laura Dern. The question that remains to be seen is how everything will go.

Jurassic World Dominion it’s not coming out in theaters until next summer, so for the most part, we’re in the dark. With that said, director Colin Trevorrow shared some information how the OG trinity will interact with Chris Pratt Owen and Bryce Dallas Howard Claire. In the words of the director:

Laura [Dern], Sam [Neill]and Jeff [Goldblum] have as much screen time in the movie as Bryce and Chris. They are not together all the time, but we watch both of their stories equally, and you have the feeling that they will clash at a certain point … there is this tension. It is not necessarily structured in the way we are used to seeing structured Hollywood movies. But it works.
