Nawazuddin Siddiqui He was seen in a few minor roles in several films before he really made a mark with ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur’. While he finally got his due and recognition as an actor and is now getting meaty, important parts, Nawazuddin recalled the time when he was not well known.
In a recent interview he revealed that people used to treat him badly on the sets when he was not famous. He said a spotboy would completely ignore him if he asked him for water. Many production houses separate the cast and crew during meals. Junior artists eat separately, supporting artists have their own space and main drivers have a separate section. Nawazuddin said he often tried to eat where the main drivers were eating, but he was dragged away by his collar. At that point, the actor was self-centered and resentful of this behavior.
However, Nawaz credits some production houses like Yash Raj Films who treat everyone equally and eat together on their plates. The actor also revealed that he has yet to be paid for any of the work he has done. Nawaz was never paid while working for the Fardeen Khan starrer.Jungle‘ directed by Ram Gopal Varma. So, he would go to the production house and eat heavy meals for two-three months. That leveled things up for him. He had also revealed earlier that he was not paid for ‘Shool’.
The actor was last seen in ‘Jogira Sa Ra Rawith Neha Sharma.
