The latest movie to hit Apple TV+, The Greatest Beer Run Ever, proved popular in its first week after its release — and was ranked as the tenth most popular TV show or movie of all time.
In the new statistics he released ReelgoodThe Greatest Beer Run Ever ranked tenth among all TV shows and movies that aired between September 28 and October 5.
“Chickie (Zac Efron) wants to support his friends fighting in Vietnam, so he does something wild – personally bring them American beer. What starts as a well-intentioned trip quickly changes Chickie’s life and outlook. Based in a true story.”
There were some huge shows and movies on the week’s most popular content list, with Hocus Pocus 2 taking the top spot on Disney+. Second was Dahmer – Monster: The Jerey Dahmer Story on Netflix, while Andor back on Disney+ rounded out the top three. However, The Greatest Beer Run Ever was the only Apple TV+ representative on the list.
Reelgood’s Top Ten Movies and TV Shows list uses first-party data from more than five million users and is based on interactions with specific content across the platform. It’s a good indicator of what content people are watching, or at least planning to watch, and can give an indication of how popular releases are.
Apple TV+ is one of the best prices on streaming right now, and it’s significantly cheaper than the Netflix and Disney+ options, although its library isn’t as large. It keeps growing, though, and you can sign up for $4.99 a month. Alternatively, Apple TV+ is also available as part of the Apple One subscription bundle that includes Apple Music and other Apple services.
