Next month Disney will give the world its first Predator movie since acquiring the Fox property. The movie titled Smooth from 20th Century Studios will debut on Hulu on August 5th.
While he was talking to SFX Magazinedirector Dan Tractenberg revealed that while Smooth takes place long before any of the preceding Predator movies, this is not an origin story or a prequel.
“I want to say that specifically, because I think there’s been some confusion with how people have understood: in my opinion, this is not a prequel movie, it’s not ‘Let’s say the origin of Predator.’ This is actually something that’s been set before the original Predator movie, and the Predator creature in it, this is the first time he’s traveled to Earth.”
We also have a brand new look at the Predator. One is from the back, the others from the front. From the looks of it, this is a Predator we’ve never seen before.
In the Comanche nation in 1719, a fierce and highly skilled warrior named Naru learns that the prey he is pursuing is a highly evolved alien with a technologically advanced arsenal. The film stars Amber Midthunder, Dakota Beavers, Dane DiLiegro, Stormee Kipp, Michelle Thrush and Julian Black Antelope.
