A new cinema company is moving into the old Silver City building on Walker Road.

Landmark Cinemas Canada announced Thursday that the company will bring its premium movie theater experience to the Mikhail Center in the fall of 2024.

Mikhail Centre, owned by Mikhail Holdings Limited (Mikhail), is located at Provincial Road and Walker Road and also aims to be a shopping destination.

Landmark's premium cinema experience will include luxury reclining seats in all eight theaters and the innovative Premiere Seat experience with a heated seat with adjustable headrest, wider armrests, side table and coat hook, all wrapped in a privacy enclosure for extra personal space and comfort.

The fully renovated cinema will also feature Landmark's Laser Ultra experience, providing the latest 4k digital projection technology and immersive Dolby Atmos sound.

Movie buffs can join Extras, Landmark's rewards program for free, to collect points for free movie tickets and concession items.

“Landmark Cinemas is proud and committed to providing the ultimate movie theater experience for movie lovers,” says Dave Cohen, president of Landmark Cinemas. “We're excited to share our premier cinema experiences with moviegoers throughout the Windsor area, from the luxury and comfort of Premiere seats and the immersive experience of Laser Ultra to the great rewards that await our Extras members.”

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Landmark Cinemas to bring a premier movie theater experience back to The Mikhail Centre. The community of Windsor is growing faster than anywhere else in Canada and our growing population deserves a fantastic movie theater experience. The Mikhail Center is the perfect place for people to meet and enjoy the latest movies,” said Joe Mikhail, owner of Mikhail Holdings.

Landmark Cinemas is Canada's second largest movie theater exhibition company, with 36 theaters and 299 screens in Western Canada and Ontario.
