Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage was invited to play the iconic vampire Dracula in the upcoming Universal Pictures project Renfield, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The movie with the monsters stars in the title of Nicholas Hoult Renfield, who was the bravado of the evil vampire in the original Bram Stoker Dracula story from the 19th century. Many actors have played Dracula in the film, including Bela Lugosi in Universal black and white classics, Gary Oldman in Francis Ford Copola1992 edition, Frank Langella, Christopher Lee, Gerard Butler and Luke Evans. Adam Sandler gave Dracula the voice of Hotel Transylvania animated films as well.
Chris McKay, who directed the action movie for aliens Chris Pratt Tomorrow’s war, will direct Renfield. Although more details of the plot are unknown, Renfield is supposed to be a kind of modern redefinition of the relationship between Dracula and Renfield, and was written by Rick and Morty vet Ryan Ridley from a stadium next door the Walking Dead Robert Kirkman of the comic.
Earlier this year, in February, Cage married for the fifth time his Japanese girlfriend Rico Sibata. In the workplace, the 57-year-old Oscar-winning actor has been successful in blockbusters such as Ghost Rider, National Treasure. Nicolas Cage then resumed his role The Croods: A New Age, directed by Joel Crawford, released in the United States on November 25, 2020. He has also starred in several independent films recently, such as Pig, which was nominated for Best Feature Film at the Gotham Awards this year.
