Just earlier today we reported that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), also known as the ‘Censor Board’, passed the film Pathan and also certified for its control. However, it seems that the Gujarat multiplex owners continue to face issues regarding the Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer. The Gujarat Multiplex Association has alleged that fringe groups in the state continue to threaten them about screening the film in theaters during its release. In fact, the club has sought the help of the state government and written to them, seeking their intervention in the matter.

In the letter, the Gujarat Multiplex Association explained about the direct and indirect threats cinema halls have received, asking them to refrain from screening Pathan. Readers will know that the release of the song followed “Besharam Rang”, a huge controversy erupted with many politicians and the general public taking offense to the outfits worn by leads Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in the song. According to the letter submitted by the association, many exhibitors and cinema owners have expressed their concern about safety.
In a report published by India Today, excerpts from the letter read, “There are many groups who are illegally targeting cinema exhibitors based on their own understanding and agenda, illegally threatening cinema exhibitors with dire consequences in terms of safety and security of their property. , staff and moviegoers if certain movies are released. Thus, we request any kind of support from your side regarding the protection of our asset(s) and business interests.”
Further, referring to the manner in which the CBFC has already cleared the certification Pathanthe association also asked the teams to take up the matter with the relevant authorities, instead of threatening cinema exhibitors and multiplex owners.
Pathan Directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Yash Raj Films. The spy action entertainer also stars John Abraham along with Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. The film is slated to release on January 25 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
