The streets of Toronto are easily recognizable in many movies and movies, often doubling to New York, but a new Pixar movie is actually set in Toronto and the trailer has just been released.
It turns red is the latest Pixar film to be released in March 2022. The film is directed by Toronto’s Domee Shi, who won the 2019 Academy Award for Best Short Film.

It turns red follows Mei Lee, a 13-year-old girl who suddenly turns into a giant red every time she gets very excited, something that seems to be all the time.
Set in Toronto in the early 2000s, the film follows May Lee and her friends as she tries to navigate her teenage years and often turns red all the time.
Torotonians will see neighborhoods and tourist traps in Pixar cartoons. Even TTC moves in this Disney and Pixar animation.
There are even Canadian product placements, such as Tim Hortons, in one scene.

The full trailer also reveals Pixar’s first boy band, 4 * Town, with three brand new songs by Billie Eilish and Finneas.
