Actor Pooja Hegde will play the lead in an upcoming action thriller film, titled Shahid Kapoor, the makers announced on Friday.
The yet-to-be-titled film is about a brilliant but rebellious cop who investigates a high-profile case. As he delves into the case, he uncovers a web of deceit and betrayal, leading him down an exciting and dangerous path.
Hegde, who earlier featured in films like ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’, ‘Beast’, ‘Radhe Shyam’ and ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’, said she was excited to work with Andrews and Kapoor for the first time.
“It’s a very special film with such a compelling yet different story. Rosshan Andrews is known for weaving magic on the big screen and I can’t wait to embark on this journey and for audiences to see me in such a unique and different role.
“I am also looking forward to working with Shahid Kapoor. he is an outstanding performer and I hope our collaboration will be unforgettable,” the 33-year-old actor said in a statement.
The film is backed by Zee Studios and Roy Kapur Films.
In a joint statement, Zee Studios CEO Shariq Patel and producer Siddharth Roy Kapur said it was an easy decision to rope in Pooja Hegde for the project.
“She is extremely flexible and very promising. Her on-screen chemistry with any of the actors she pairs up with is widely acclaimed and we’re sure audiences will see another side of her in this film. We are very happy to have her on board,” he added.
The movie will hit the theaters soon and will hit the theaters in 2024.
