Nag Ashwin’s Project K is currently one of the most anticipated South Indian films and the hype seems to be intensifying. After the Tamil superstar’s exciting announcement Kamal Haasan joins the star-studded castfeaturing Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone, production house Vyjayanthi Movies has now shared an exciting high-octane poster of the film.

The poster features powerful images of two hands, one hand covered in cloth bandages and the other adorned in armour, engaged in a dynamic clash as they deliver an impressive punch.

Sharing the latest poster of the film, Vyjayanthi Movies and star Prabhas noted on Instagram, “People are waiting for the ultimate showdown. Get ready for a glimpse into the world of #ProjectK on July 20 (US) and July 21 (India).” The makers of the film had earlier announced that they will do so reveal exclusive footage of the big-budget sci-fi film main cast appearance at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), scheduled to run July 20-23.

Meanwhile, director Nag Ashwin dropped a subtle hint on social media suggesting that the makers might also reveal the official title of the film along with the exclusive still. “This cover contains a sheet of paper with a single word printed on it. But the weight of it… sometimes feels like the whole world itself. #projectk 🙏,” Ashwin noted.

On July 20, the film’s team will host a panel titled, ‘This is Project K: First Glimpse of India’s Mytho-Sci-fi Epic’ with Deepika, Prabhas and Haasan, during which the full title, the teaser trailer and the film’s release date will be revealed, Variety reported. “This exclusive event will transport guests to India’s most ambitious cinematic universe with the compelling narrative, futuristic setting and ‘Spice Punk’ aesthetic inspired by the film,” the producers said in a statement.

“We are excited to debut Project K at San Diego Comic-Con. India’s storytelling tradition has ancient roots, with its epics serving as the springboard for many cultures around the world. A world as big as this needs such a big platform to present it to people. Comic-Con felt like the perfect place to find the honesty and excitement needed for Project K,” Ashwin had said earlier.

Few days ago, Amitabh Bachchan had expressed happiness as part of this film. “I am honored and privileged to be a part of this great venture in Telugu cinema, ‘Project K’ and have the immense honor of being in the same frame of Idol, Prabhas,” Big B wrote on Keladima.

In an interview to a Telugu YouTube channel, producer Ashwini Dutt, who is bankrolling the film under the banner of Vyjayanthi Movies, had revealed several details about the project and said that the film was almost 70 percent complete. The producer also mentioned that Project K will be a VFX-heavy film. “This will be a graphic heavy film. It’s been five months since we started work on the graphics and it will continue into the next year. We have completed about 70% of the shoot so far,” said Ashwini Dutt, known for producing blockbusters like Sita Ramam and Maharshi.

San Diego Comic-Con is being held in the middle of the Hollywood actor’s strike. Actors have been participating in the writer’s strike in the US, which has put many shoots on hold and now, even film premieres are beginning to be affected.
