We had earlier reported that Aishwarya Rajinikanth is all set to return to films and has locked her next film with Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth titled Lal Salam. While the director has launched the film, let us also remind you that the director’s father Rajinikanth will be appearing in a special cameo, while a first look of the megastar has also been released. And now after the recent social media post, it seems that the film will also have another major special appearance by none other than cricket legend Kapil Dev.
For the uninitiated, Rajinikanth, who will play the role of Moideen Bhai in Lal Salam, recently visited Mumbai to shoot for his extended cameo. Going by the first look posters of the film, which were released during the announcement, it was said that the film will have a major connection with cricket. Confirming the same, now it seems that cricket legend and former captain of Indian cricket team, Kapil Dev has been roped in for a special appearance in it. When one megastar met the other, a social media post was obviously in order!
Rajinikanth tweeted a picture of him and Kapil Dev indulging in a heated conversation and expressed his honor to meet the cricket star in his caption saying, “It is an honor and a privilege to work with the legendary, the most respected and wonderful man Kapildevji., who made India proud by winning first ever…Cricket World Cup!!!”
On the other hand, Kapil Dev also shared a picture of the two on his Instagram and added, “Honor and privilege to be with the great man.”
Readers will know that Kapil Dev was the first Indian captain under whose leadership India won their first World Cup in 1983. On the other hand, talking about Lal Salam, the film is expected to be set against the backdrop of cricket and communism. With music composed by AR Rahman, the film was released earlier this year.
