The new trailer for Rajat Kapoor’s upcoming film, RK/RKAY it just fell. Going by the trailer, the film promises to be an unusual and incredible comedy that will take the audience into the many mysteries of filmmaking.
The story seems to narrate the story of a restless director (RK) who has completed the shooting of his new film. Things change when he receives a disturbing phone call from the editor saying that the film’s lead character is missing from the film’s negatives. Promising to be a comedy-thriller, the story delves into a strange backstory of the film world where RK and his team roam around to find the protagonist.
RK/RKAY marks the return of Mallika Sherawat to the big screen after a long hiatus. She had earlier shared the teaser of the film on her Instagram account, “I have worked in so many films but it happened for the first time Humari na film ka Hero gayab ho gaya hai!!! #Rk/#Rkay releases on July 22, 2022 in theaters.”
The film is produced by Priyanshi Films (Priyam Srivastava and Harshita Karkare) and stars Mallika Sherawat, Kubbra Sait, Ranvir Shorey, Manu Rishi Chadha, Chandrachoor Rai, Abhijeet Deshpande, Abhishek Sharrma, Grace Girdhar and Vaishali Malhara in pivotal roles.
RK/Rkay is written and directed by Rajat Kapoor.
The film has been screened at many international film festivals such as Shanghai International Film Festival, River to River Film Festival, Bucheon International Fantasy Film Festival and Austin Film Festival among others. The film will release this year in July 2022.
