The horror renaissance has been going on for years, and the genre really shows no signs of slowing down. Some of the best horror movies returned to theaters via new sequels, including Wes Craven Scream. The next installment will take place in New York (the folded photo showed a subway set), and Scream 6Melissa Barrera explained why facing Ghostface in the Big Apple is more “disastrous.”

The fifth Scream The film arrived in January, directed Ready or not filmmakers Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett; That project featured a trio of original stars, but the star was definitely Sam Carpenter, played by Melissa Barrera. Synopsis for the sixth film revealed that the two sets of surviving siblings would be leaving Woodsboro to move to New York, and that the new setting seems to really change Ghostface’s attacks. Barrera recently spoke Accelerator about this process, saying:

It’s like 20 times more painful. It’s awful. Because you also see how, in a city like New York, everyone is doing their own thing and someone is screaming for help, and no one will come to help them. No one comes to help them. So it’s frustrating, because you’re being chased by Ghostface, but you also see humanity and how it reacts to a situation like that. Anyway, I think I’ve probably said too much already.
