Shabana Azmi on Instagram on Saturday revealed that she recently met Sharmila Tagore. The veteran actors had starred together in several films, including Namkeen.
In the photo, Shabana Azmi was dressed in a black printed skirt with a long coat and a colorful scarf wrapped around her neck. Sharmila Tagore, on the other hand, wore a black and brown salwaar-kameez print. He was wearing a black, sleeveless jacket.
Sharing the photo, Shabana wrote: “Very happy to meet #Sharmila Tagore in Delhi”. The comments section was full of love for the duo. Richa Chadha called the image “legendary” while Divya Dutta was visibly excited when she wrote: “Oh! Namkeen !! ” along with some heart emoji.
The fans also expressed their joy to see the duo together. “They are both talented and royal,” wrote one fan. “An epitome of elegance,” added another. “Wow! Two beauty legends in one frame !!” commented a fan.
Namkeen, directed by Gulzar, was released in 1982. In 2019, Shabana shared a black-and-white photo of the film’s scenes and wrote, “Goofing about #Namkeen’s set”.
Shabana has parked in New Delhi, where she is shooting for her upcoming Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani film. The film, directed by Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, is directed by Karan Johar. Also starring Dharmendra and Jaya Bachchan.
Earlier in the day, Farah Khan shared a video of the film in which Shabana complained that Karan was not feeding her while she was busy eating.

Sharmila, meanwhile, lived in her ancestral home – Pataudi Palace – before the pandemic broke out in India. On the outskirts of the capital, Sharmila hosted her daughter Soha Ali Khan and granddaughter Inaaya sometimes at the residence.
Earlier this month, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and their sons – Taimur and Jeh – were also seen staying at the lodge for a few days. The family celebrated Diwali together.
