Spider-Man: No Way Home will not be streamed on Disney Plus or HBO Max, sorry

Spider-Man: No Way Home may be the most anticipated movie to hit theaters this year, with predictions already based on an explosion at the box office. And the film’s flow strategy is sure to help people flock to the cinemas, since Spider-Man: No Way Home will not be transmitted at all.

This year has seen an unprecedented number of new theatrical films released on streaming services on the same day they hit theaters. HBO Max, in particular, has become synonymous with practice. And HBO Max is still in progress King Richard, for the father of young Venus and Serena Williams, and will be streaming The Matrix Resurrections (also known as Matrix 4) from Wednesday. But HBO Max will not stream Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Will Spider-Man: No Way Home air on Disney Plus?

No. Spider-Man: No Way Home Disney Plus will not be leaking on Disney Plus at any time in the near future unless Disney and Sony make a new deal.

Spider-Man, as a character, comes from Marvel, but Disney’s Marvel has a complicated licensing agreement with Sony for the Spider-Man characters in the movie. Basically, Sony is responsible for creating and distributing individual movies about the Spider-Man universe, and then Disney’s Marvel can “borrow” movie characters into its own Marvel Cinematic Universe. That’s why Tom Holland Spider-Man appears in the Avengers movies.

This is also why you can stream some Disney Plus movies featuring Holland as Spider-Man – but you can not stream any of the specific Spider-Man movies there.

The same setting applies to Venom and Morbius next year. These are Marvel characters, but the movies are movies distributed by Sony, so they are not intended for Disney Plus either.

Will Spider-Man: No Way Home air on HBO Max?

No.

HBO Max has been closely linked to the concept of same-day streaming, as it has released more movies this way than any other streaming service. HBO Max streamed every Warner Bros. movie in the 2021 release schedule on the same day that about two dozen movies hit the big screen. Here’s why Matrix 4, a Warner Bros. movie, is set to air soon on HBO Max.

But this has raised some misplaced hopes among moviegoers when Any new movie coming out in theaters. Without knowing the studio that distributes this new movie, many people wonder if it is one of the movies available on HBO Max.

But Spider-Man is distributed by Sony, not Warner Bros., so it’s not on its way to HBO Max.

Sony has made an agreement for its 2021 movies to first go to the Premium Starz cable network, where they are available to watch on its traditional channels as well as its streaming application. So, Starz will be the first place where you can stream this latest Sony movie.

Traditionally, the film would reach Starz about seven to nine months after its release in theaters.

What about other movies in theaters now? Are West Side Story, Ghostbusters: Afterlife or other theatrical films being aired now?

Halloween Kills and Clifford the Big Red Dog are two of the few theatrical films now in theaters.

Clifford the Big Red Dog is in progress Paramount Plus. The streaming service and studio distributing the film are owned by ViacomCBS, which has decided to release the film in cinemas and Paramount Plus at the same time.

Halloween Kills is over Peacock. Peacock is owned by Comcast NBCUniversal and is distributed by Universal Pictures Halloween Kills. But there is a paywall around the movie. You will need to sign up for a premium level of $ 5 per month or $ 10 per month if you want to watch Halloween Kills or any other Peacock program with paywalled. (HBO Max is the next sequel to Universal movies, such as Halloween Kills, to be released.

But almost any other movie in theaters is not currently available in streaming service.

Encanto and Eternals – two of the latest Disney releases to reach the top of the US box office – are not available for streaming Yet. But they will be coming to Disney Plus soon: Encanto is set to launch there on December 24th and Eternals will be up and running on January 12th.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife, like the latest Spider-Man, is distributed by Sony Pictures, which releases it exclusively in theaters. So Starz will be the first part to broadcast it.

Most other movies do not have subscription streaming options. There is no time for death, Poison: Let there be a Massacre, Horns, Spencer, Last night in Soho, The French mission, Gucci House and West Side Story have all been released in theaters exclusively in recent months.

What new movies can Do I stream on HBO Max while it’s still in the movies?

In general, most other Warner Bros. new movies are available for release on Max at 12:01 p.m. PT / 3: 01 p.m. ET on the day of their release. But the arrival time for some movies like Dune varies, depending on when the first movie theaters hit. Wonder Woman 1984, for example, became available at 9 a.m. PT / noon ET on December 25, because they were the first theaters to be open that day. The Dune was on the same boat, arriving at the service at an informal time in the afternoon that it was released.

All Warner Bros. movies released on this “hybrid” model on HBO Max will be available for 4K Ultra HD viewing and HDR image quality, although these formats are not yet standard on the full Max library.

These movies are available for streaming on HBO Max for 31 days. They are usually removed from the service at 11:59 p.m. PT on the last day of availability.

But even these Warner Bros. movies return to HBO Max relatively quickly, usually about five months after their original theatrical and Max premieres. Several movies have already come, gone and returned, including Mortal Kombat and Godzilla Vs. Kong.

But 2021 is set to be the only year for this phenomenon of the flow of new big screen movies on HBO Max as soon as they hit theaters. Warner Bros. said 10 studio-produced films would go straight to HBO Max in 2022, but major franchise films would have 45 days in theaters exclusively with no streaming option during this period from next year.
