Swastika Mukherjee to Rabindranath Tagore

Swastika Mukherjee reacts to anyone portraying Rabindranath Tagore on screen.

Without taking any names, Swastika tweeted: “No one should play Robbie Thakur. Leave the man alone.” Responding to her, many Bengalis agreed with her while some shared their different opinion on the matter. One of them commented, “No one should play Rabi Thakur for any purpose.”

“Bengal knows him well, the rest of India not so much. His story needs to be told and cinema is a good medium. But it all depends on what phase of his life is depicted. If it is only the last few days in Shantiniketan, then this is much less of a story,” commented another. One also added, “If we are able to portray his personal with dignity.. it can be made into a movie.. because I have also seen that the respect he gets in Bengal, no one cares about it all over India. So we have to move forward in a good way.”

Jald hi is film ki adhik jankaari apke sath sanjha krunga (It is my good fortune that I have the privilege to embody Gurudev on screen! Soon, I will share more information about this film with you).
