John Wick: Chapter 4 Director Chad Stahelski revealed that the director’s cut will add a brand new character that was cut from the theatrical release.
Starring Keanu Reeves as ex-assassin John Wick, the franchise’s fourth outing delivered a shock ending after a commanding 169 minutes of action.
While two hours and 49 minutes may seem impressive in terms of runtime, the director’s cut will include an additional 15 minutes of action and introduce some new characters.

Talking to you ComicBookMovie.comStahelski said he is working on an extended cut of the film, which is almost finished.
“Yeah, I’ve been working on the Director’s Cut, the extended cut, which we’re almost done,” Stahelski said. “There’s about another, I think, 10 to 15 minutes that we put back in.”
Discussing the film’s new elements, Stahelski said that during the editing process for the theatrical release, an entire character was removed that will now appear in the director’s cut.
“We cut out a big chunk of Berlin, a whole character called The Frau, which is a really funny scene with John, and another scene between him and Tracker, some other little action beats that we put back into.

“I mean, yeah, there’s always things that we take out because they don’t fit the beat. I think it’s all great quality, I love the chorus, I love the characters,” Stahelski explained.
“It just didn’t—as a whole, it changed the pace of the movie, and I didn’t think I could put in, you know, a two-hour-and-38-minute movie if it felt slow. I think we got away with it because it felt driven, I felt like it was too deliberate and I didn’t want to upset that rhythm. And, if it has to go, it has to go.”
