Square Enix brought a new look Open – their upcoming new IP designed specifically for PS5 – at the Game Awards.
Square Enix is not ashamed to share regular updates on Forspoken. As this is a new IP, the publisher wanted to inform the players about who is involved in this game and what it is mainly about. However, there is still a lot of mystery.
Mysteriously transported from New York, Frey Holland finds herself trapped in the enchanting land of Athia.
Frey soon learns that this beautiful land once flourished under the reign of benevolent matriarchs, called Tantas, until a catastrophic scourge ruthlessly corrupted everything it touched. At the center of their devastated areas, the Tantas now rule like crazy and evil witches.
Unaffected by Break and desperate for answers, Frey reluctantly agrees to help the last remaining Athia citizens who see her as their only hope. Frey’s journey to this strange and insidious country will lead her deep into the heart of corruption, where she must fight monstrous creatures, confront the mighty Tantas and reveal secrets that awaken much more from within.
Open is set to start on May 24, 2022.
