Varun Dhawan keen to do a South film: ‘I don’t know how, but I know it will happen’ : Bollywood News

As South Cinema is taking off in India, even Hindi film actors are keenly interested in being a part of a project of this scale. In recent times, actors like Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Salman Khan and others have appeared in special roles in Telugu films. Varun Dhawan is also one of those who wants to do a film in the south. He participated in the round table discussion held by Galatta Plus where Karan Johar said that the Bhediya actor was ‘dying’ to work in a southern film. He said, “He will go to Hyderabad or Chennai and live there. He dies…jumping.”

Tamil star Karthi, who was also one of the celebrities who participated in the round table discussion, said, “He (Varun) has already mentioned his interest and work there.”

Varun said, “We have released Bhediya in Telugu as Thodelu. Released by Geetha Arts. Even at the launch, they said you look more like a South Indian hero than a North Indian hero because of your energy level and the kind of films you do. I would love to because I have never seen any discrimination. I grew up with my father (who) used to show me Tamil and Telugu films in the morning.”

He added, “Given the opportunity, I would love to work there. There are some great filmmakers that are on my list. I know it will. I don’t know how, but I know it will happen. It’s a plan.”

Varun pointed to Dulquer Salmaan, who was also part of the conversation and said, “He is a producer. Perhaps, he can give it.’ The Sita Rama The actor laughed as he said: “I can’t afford it.”

Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan was spotted most recently Bhediya with Crete Sanon. The film released in theaters on November 25, 2022. He will next star in Nitesh Tiwari’s Bawaal with Janhvi Kapoor.
