Yoko Ono shared an article consisting of fan messages supporting her alleging that she caused the Beatles to disband.
The widow of the late John Lennon has often been accused all these years of being the one behind the death of the iconic Liverpool band in 1970, but in Disney + Peter Jackson’s new documentary, The Beatles: Get Back, it is clear that she participated largely in the background in the middle of the final recordings of the group.
The three-part film follows Fab Four as they write, record and rehearse for what was to be the band’s last concert.
The original footage was shot by director Michael Lindsay-Hogg for the 1970 film Let It Be, and Jackson has reworked the 57-hour footage for a more detailed description of the Beatles’ latest work.
Yoko could be seen in the clips knitting and reading a newspaper.
The article published by Uproxx is entitled: “Beatles fans believe that” Get Back “dispels the idea that Yoko Ono disbanded the band and Peter Jackson agrees.”
Yoko later wrote on Twitter: “Our positive conscience and the consequent inner peace are the only elements that will heal our world. Now is the time for us all to focus on inner peace and replace the struggle with positive thoughts.”
McCartney has insisted in the past that he did not believe Yoko caused the Beatles to collapse, adding that he felt he was only involved because of her love for John.
He said, “We thought she was intrusive because she was sitting on the recordings and we never had anything like that.
But looking at it, you think: “The guy was completely in love with her. And you just have to respect it. ” So we did. And I do. “
