Lacey Chabert’s latest film for the Hallmark Channel will probably inspire more than just a few trips to the Emerald Isle. In Christmas at Castle HartChabert plays an American woman named Brooke who visits the country with her sister at Christmas. After confusing her with an elite party planner, she gets a job planning a rich holiday party in a beautiful castle. Along the way, she falls in love with the owner of the castle, Earl of Glasslow (Stuart Townsend).
Parts of the Christmas-themed rom-com were filmed at Dromoland Castle, a true 19th-century castle in Clare County, Ireland. And if you fell in love with the wonderful setting while watching the movie, you are in luck. The castle is also a hotel, although accommodation there is not cheap.

Shooting for Christmas at Castle Hart actually took place in three separate castles, according to Southern Life. One of these was Dromoland Castle, which also provided a home away from home for a few days for the film cast.
“We have to shoot at the castle and stay at Dromoland Castle,” he said Bad Girls said the star during a November 22nd Facebook Live with Townsend co-star. “It was dreamy. I felt like I was really living a Hallmark movie with that experience.”
In a video from behind the scenes on the Hallmark Channel (via YouTube), said Chabert that staying in the cast made her feel like a king. “I will become a princess in this castle. “I have to wake up here, go down the stairs, go to work,” he said, calling the experience “an absolute dream come true.”
For Townsend, who is from Ireland, staying at Dromoland Castle was a life experience.
“This castle is something that people spend their whole lives saving to go,” he said. “So for me, I felt really blessed to be there.”

Chabert was able to visit Ireland for the first time while shooting the film, fulfilling a long-held dream. He told Hallmark that the Irish scene was an integral part of it Christmas at Castle Hart history.
“Ireland itself is basically a character in the film,” he said. “We try to show as much as possible its beauty.
Townsend agreed, with the Queen of the Damned star saying in a Facebook chat with his co-star that the film “highlights the beauty of Ireland and the magical nature of Ireland”.
