AMC’s streaming service Shudder is the place to go for all things horror, thrills and supernatural. Raven’s Hollow is their latest original film and the trailer for the gothic horror based on the life of Edgar Allan Poe has been released!
Raven’s Hollow follows the story of military cadet Edgar Allan Poe, played by William Moseley, along with four other cadets as they take part in a training mission. As they travel, they come across a man horribly injured and near death, hanging from a wooden shelf. As the man dies, his last words lead them to a nearby town that they believe may hold the answers to this gruesome murder. Poe is soon captured by the innkeeper’s daughter Charlotte, played by Melanie Zanetti. The cadets are fueled by the resident’s refusal to talk about the murdered. In his desperate search for answers, Poe will be confronted with a horror that will haunt him for the rest of his life.
Raven’s Hollow is a rare film that takes viewers on a journey of exploration into the early days of Poe’s life that many have never seen before. Director Christopher Hatton blends history with fiction to create a truly unique film. This film uses dark gothic imagery while bringing the supernatural to the usual period drama genre. Hatton is joined by Chuck Reeves as co-writer, with Caroline Stern for Canoe Film, Andrejs Ekis for Cinevilla Studios and Todd Lundbohm and Mark Andrews for 828 Media Capital producing.
