Abhishek Bachchan regrets not being prepared for Refugee debut, says “my start was unstable” | Bollywood

Actor Abhishek Bachchan spoke of a “sadness” he has for his Bollywood debut “Refugee”. In a new interview, he said he was “not ready to work for the great JP Dutta” at the time. Abhishek also added that “he should have been better for JP Dutta”.

Refugee, released in 2000, is a romantic drama film that marks the debut of Abhishek Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor in Bollywood. Written and directed by JP Dutta. The film also stars Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty and Anupam Kher.

In an interview with RJ Siddharth Kanan, when asked to talk about the mistakes in his career, Abhishek said: “One of the few regrets I have is that when I made my Refugee debut, I felt like I was not ready to work for the great JP Dutta. You can work with such an honored director in your first film, you have to be prepared for this challenge and this honor. I felt that I was very inadequately prepared as an actor. I should have been much more prepared for JP saahab. JP saahab is a family to me, I love him. “I should have been better for him.”

Abhishek also said, “But this is also something that was a great lesson. If not, I would not have learned the things I learned 20 years later. If I was so prepared at the time, I don’t think I would have ever learned anything as an actor. It is not how you start, but how you end. But your beginning determines much of how you will end. “Because my start was unstable in this respect for the perspective of my preparation, it made me lift my socks, you will do better, you should do better, you should do better.”

After Refugee, Abhishek has worked on more than 60 films, including Dhai Akshar Prem Ke, LOC Kargil, Zameen, Run, Yuva, Hum Tum, Bunty Aur Babli, Dhoom, Sarkar, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Delhi-6, Paa, Raavan, The Big Bull among others.
