Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan have been one of the most successful actor-director duos of Hindi cinema as they have given films like Hera Pheri, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Garam Masala together. The last film they did together was Khatta Meetha in 2010 and it looks like after 14 years, the two are all set to get back together!
Priyadarshan in a chat with Bollywood Hungama confirmed the development, stated that it has been a long time since he and Akshay have worked together and had discussed many projects but nothing worked till now. The director went on to add that Hindi audiences usually don’t like his serious work like Tezz, Khatta Meetha or Rangrezz, so with Akshay it will be a comedy. The movie they are going to make is a kind of comic-fantasy.
The film is helmed by Ektaa R Kapoor, who last worked with Akshay in Once Upon ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara!, which was the sequel to the 2011 hit Once Upon a Time In Mumbaai starring Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi to star. The Akshay-Priyadarshan film is slated to go on floors in September. It’s going to be a busy year for Khiladi Kumar as he has several releases this year from Bade Miyan Chote Miyan to Sky Force to an untitled film with Karan Johar and Welcome to The Jungle.
