Ankita Lokhande gets nostalgic as she remembers working on Manikarnika: Bollywood News

Ankita Lokhande got popularity from the series Pavitra Rista. She had made her Bollywood debut with Kangana Ranaut starrer Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. The film completed four years today.

Manikarnika celebrates four years today. Ankita Lokhande is nostalgic as she recalls the time she was offered the film in 2019. The Times of India quoted Ankita as saying, “When Jhalkaribai was first offered to me, I felt instantly connected and empowered. I knew this character was perfect for my Bollywood debut.”

Further sharing her experience, she said, “Playing a real character and conveying those emotions is a challenge and I feel amazing that I played it so well. It feels amazing to have a beautiful, cute and strong memorable first step,” she further added .

Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi was a historical drama based on the life of Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi. The film was directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and featured Kangana Ranaut in the lead role. The film also featured Jisshu Sengupta, Atul Kulkarni and others.

Ankita participated India’s Best Ki Khoj Filmmakerspost with which the actress bagged the lead role of Archana in Ekta Kapoor’s daily soap Pavitra Rista starring opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. He also participated in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4 and Comedy Circus.

Ankita started dating her Pavitra Rista co-star Sushant Singh Rajput in 2010. In an interview in 2016, the couple even talked about getting married to each other. However, in the same year the couple parted ways. Ankita was last seen inside Baaghi 3.

We will see her later Swatantra Veer Savarkar alongside Randeep Hooda. The film is conceptualized by Sandeep Singh and written by Utkarsh Naithani and Randeep Hooda. The film is produced by Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Legend Studios, produced by Anand Pandit, Sandeep Singh and Sam Khan. The film is scheduled to release on 26 May 2023, marking the 140th birth anniversary of Veer Savarkar.
