Oscar-winning actors Cate Blanchett and Kevin Klein are set to star in the Apple thriller series Denial of responsibility. The project will be directed by director Alfonso Cuarρόνn, according to the variety.
According to Variety, Denial of responsibility is said to be based on the novel of the same name by Renee Knight. Blanchett stars as Kathryn Ravenscroft, a successful and respected television documentary journalist whose work has been based on exposing long-standing violations of institutions that have been respected. When a fascinating novel written by a widow (Klein) appears on her nightstand, she is horrified when she realizes that she is a key character in a story she hoped to be buried in the past.
Cuarón currently has a comprehensive deal with Apple, with Denial of responsibility is the first project ordered in a row under the agreement.Denial of responsibility will also mark the first regular live-action TV role in Kline’s career.
Cuarρόνn’s most recent film was critically acclaimed Roma, where he served as writer, director, producer, editor and director of photography. The film won three Oscars: Best Foreign Language Film and Best Direction and Photography for Cuarρόνn. He has been nominated for six Oscars throughout his career, winning three – both for Romaand best director for Gravity, which he also wrote and produced.
In the workplace, Klein is best known for his work in film and on stage, having won an Oscar. A fish called Wanda. Other notable film roles include Sophie’s Choice, The Big Chill, In and Out, Silverado, and Cry Freedom. On television, he has given the voice of Mr. Fischoeder to the successful animated series Bob’s Burgers since the show started, earning himself an Emmy nomination in 2017 for Best Voice versus Performance.
Cate Blanchett, on the other hand, recently starred in the limited edition FX series Madam America, for which she was nominated for an Emmy for Best Actress in a Limited Edition in 2020. She is a six-time Oscar nominee, winning two of the awards for her work in Blue Jasmine and The Aviator. He has also starred in films such as Note a scandal, Elizabeth and Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Carol, and The Lord of the Rings.
Alfonso Cuarρόνn signs the adaptation and will also be the director and executive producer Denial of responsibility, under the banner of Esperanto Filmoj with Gabriela Rodriguez. Blanchett will be an executive producer in addition to starring. Anonymous Content’s David Levine, Dawn Olmstead and Steve Golin are also executive producers. Oscar winner Emmanuel Lubezki will serve as director of photography alongside Oscar nominee Bruno Delbonell.
