Before its release Chup: The Revenge of the Artist, the venture’s star Shreya Dhanwanthary spoke exclusively about R Balki’s directorial with Bollywood Hungama. During her candid chat with us, she revealed how Sup happened to her while sharing the story behind her casting.
EXCLUSIVE: Shreya Dhanwanthary says, ‘I wrote a love letter to Balki’. reveals a fun story behind his involvement in the psycho-thriller ‘Chup’
When asked if Dhanwanthary was the first choice for the romantic thriller, he asserted, “I guess I am the first choice for the role because I wrote a love letter to Balki and said, if he ever has something for me, please let me know. And he immediately replied saying: Yes, indeed I have something for you, please meet me on Monday, and I am going to meet him on Monday. And he tells me the story and says if you want it, it’s yours. And I am completely shocked looking at him. And I’m like, yeah, yeah. I want it. And it’s like it’s yours. So this was the best day.”
Shreya added, “And then I found out later, that when I left the room, she tells one of the writers who were present in the room. He said I had two girls in mind for this role. It’s great, I met Shreya. And I’m sure she’ll be great for the place. But I would like to meet the other girls too. So, the author asks him, sir, if I may ask, who are the other girls you had in mind? So see, I either wanted the new girl Scam [1992]or wanted the new world from [The] Head of family.”
Concluding her answer, h Ladies toilets The actress said, “And then the writer tells Balki that it’s the same girl. And it’s like, Oh, great that I made a great decision. I like to tell the story. But yes, I hope based on this story, I was the only choice for the role.”
As she continued with us, the 34-year-old actress also shared her experience working with the cast of Sup. He said: “They are both incredibly talented and established actors along with the lovely, bubbly Pooja Bhatt who is my soul mate. And it was an absolute privilege to work with the three of them. For me it was like being a kid in a candy store.” Talking about the film, the Dulquer Salmaan and Sunny Deol starrer is set to release on September 23, 2022.
