The last big controversy of 2022 was about Prasoon Joshi over statement Pathan. The chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has admitted that the film has undergone cuts as per the regulation.

Bollywood Hungama has now learned about the cut list in the film. The screening committee requested more than 10 cuts, most of which are related to the dialogues. In two places, the word ‘RAW’ was replaced with “Hamare” according to the context. “Langde Lulle” replaced by ‘Toote Foote’. The word ‘PMO’ was removed while in 13 places, ‘PM’ was replaced by either the President or the Minister.

Subsequently, “Ashok Chakra” was removed and replaced by “Veer Puraskar”, “ex-KGB” by “ex-SBU” and “Mrs Bharatmata” by “Hamari Bharatmata’. In the dialogue “Isse sasti Scotch nahin mili’, ‘scotch’ was replaced by ‘drink’. A change was then made to the text that appears at one point in the film where ‘Black Prison, Russia’ was replaced by ‘Black Prison’.

Eventually there were three changes to the song “Besharam Rang”. The butt close-up, the ‘side pose (partial nudity)’ shots and the visuals of the sensual dance moves during the lyrics “Bahut tang kiya” were removed or limited and replaced with “suitable downloads”. The CBFC cut list, however, does not mention how many seconds of footage have been censored. It is also not clear whether or not the orange swimsuit footage that caused a stir has been preserved.

After these changes were made, the CBFC granted the censor certificate to the makers Pathan on January 2. The film has secured a U/A certificate and its duration as mentioned in the certificate is 146 minutes. In other words, Pathan has a duration of 2 hours and 26 minutes.
