Signing a content supply contract with ‘Coupang Play’…Providing various genre content such as movies and cartoons
Provision of content channels to SKB media platform ‘PlayZ’…Launch of 2 real-time movie channels
Strengthen the content distribution business and expand its influence by establishing itself as a strong domestic and overseas content provider
[e대한경제=심화영 기자] KT Alpha, Korea’s largest digital content investment and distribution company, secured overseas distribution rights for original content from Watcha, an online video (OTT) service in February, and has extended its content offer to the main national OTTs.
KT Alpha announced on the 16th that it had signed a content supply deal with Coupang’s OTT ‘Coupang Play’ and SK Broadband’s ‘PlayZ’ media platform.
After last year, KT Alpha signed a content supply agreement with “Coupang Play” this year to provide content in various genres such as movies, anime and foreign series. Among the works provided, popular works include “I’m Going to Meet You”, a romantic film starring actors So Ji-sub and Son Ye-jin, and “Your Wedding”, which gained popularity thanks to sweet performances by the actors. Kim Young-kwang and Park Bo-young.
KT Alpha has also collaborated with the “PlayZ” media platform, which was launched by SK Broadband in January. “PlayZ” is an all-in-one game box where you can enjoy experiential entertainment such as various OTT, streaming channels, games and karaoke. KT Alpha signed a content channel supply and operation contract with SK Broadband this year and launched two real-time movie channels on the PlayZ service.
The newly launched channels are “PLAYY Premium Movie (CH.220)” and “PLAYY Well Made Movie (CH.230)”. You can find movies that are considered well-done, such as “The Sixth Story of a Girl’s High School Ghost Story: Old School” and
KT Alpha launched Korea’s first independent content service “PLAYY” in 2013, and currently offers 13 products on the domestic OTT “Season” ∙ “Wave” ∙ “Tiving” and media platform “U+Mobile tv” ∙ ” PlayZ”. The PLAYY’ cinema channel is currently being broadcast. It provides best movie content based on subdivided genres and features such as premium, well done, action and healing.
