Fresh off her starring role as Pamela Anderson in the Hulu limited series Pam and Tommy, English actress Lily James seems to be making fantastic decisions about her budding acting career. Starting with a successful run in the TV series Downton Abbey Playing Lady Rose MacClare, James transitioned into a starring role in 2015 Cinderella opposite Richard Madden, Cate Blanchett and Helena Bonham Carter. Since then, he has taken on various roles in television and film, esp Baby Driver and Yesterday. Now, it looks like Lily James has just been cast in a new movie starring Willem Dafoe.
According to his report DeadlineLily James and Willem Dafoe have joined the cast of the upcoming film Finalmente L’alba. Finalmente L’alba translates to Dawn at last and will be directed by Saverio Costanzo, the Italian director who gave birth to the TV series In treatment and HBO My brilliant friend. His plot Finalmente L’alba it’s still undefined right now, but The AV Club confirmed that the indie drama will also star Stranger Things actor Joe Keery and Shiva Baby’s Rachel Sennott. While still in pre-production, Finalmente L’alba will begin filming later this month in Italy under a veil of secrecy, as the producers have yet to reveal details about the characters these four actors plan to portray.
With an all-star cast, Finalmente L’alba it seems to be an encouraging project for Lily James and the rest of the ensemble. James has been on a roll lately, choosing projects that have gotten her a lot of attention, including the upcoming film What does Love have to do with it? where he will star alongside heavyweights such as Emma Thompson. What does Love have to do with it? will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next month, as James will be in Los Angeles to attend the Primetime Emmy Awards. She is currently nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Anthology Series or Motion Picture for her work following the acclaim Pam and Tommywhich starred Sebastian Stan as Tommy Lee and Seth Rogen as Rand Gauthier. Rotten tomatoes currently ranked Pam and Tommy as Certified Fresh with 79% on its Tomatometer based on over 100 reviewers.
Along with Lily James’ upward trajectory in the right direction, so are her colleagues Finalmente L’alba. Actor Willem Dafoe has been nominated for an Academy Award four times for performances in films spanning over four decades, including At Eternity’s Gate and Platoon. Next we will see him in Giorgos Lanthimos Poor in 2023. Joe Keery has risen above his own Stranger Things corresponding with appearances in Free Press and his upcoming role as Gator Tillman in the FX anthology series, Fargo. For her part, Rachel Sennott can currently be considered a featured actress Bodies Bodies Bodies alongside Pete Davidson and will premiere Susie is looking next month. Sennott also finished filming the TV series The idolstarring Lily-Rose Depp, The Weeknd and Troye Sivan.
