As the Patel family prepares to take all viewers on a roller coaster ride Maja Ma, excitement is at an all-time high for the upcoming Amazon Original movie to premiere this holiday season. The cast of the highly anticipated film recently shared their experiences on the set of the film and it made us even more excited to watch the film which releases on October 6th!
Madhuri Dixit says she has many memories of “fun times” while shooting for Maja Ma
Talking about all the fun behind the scenes, Madhuri Dixit said, “There are so many memories of the fun times we had behind the scenes and while working on the film. This time, I just couldn’t keep a straight face because of Gajraj ji’s dialogue delivery. It was a serious scene and Gajraj ji had some hilarious lines, and everyone knows his signature style. It’s so hard to keep a straight face when shooting with it. I was afraid I’d start laughing so I started humming sad songs in my head so I could keep a straight face on stage and not spoil it for everyone.”
Adding further to this, he said, “There were times when we had breaks between shots and we enjoyed dancing, rehearsing and playing games with each other. One day I finished my scenes early and everyone else – Gajraj ji, Ritwik, Srishti and Barkha were playing dumb. I joined them thinking I would play a few rounds and then go home. But I lost track of time and ended up playing multiple rounds. My team kept telling me we were late, but it was so much fun I couldn’t get up in the middle of the game.”
Talking about a funny encounter with Madhuri Dixit, Srishti Shrivastava said, “We were shooting for ‘Boom Padi’ and we had to quickly and gracefully pick up our gags and walk. With the high energy of the song and the excitement of dancing with Madhuri madam, I was not taking it lightly.. And she looked at me and started laughing and asked, “What are you doing?” and taught me how to lift a gagra gracefully. It was hilarious and at the same time so precious to me, that the diva herself was teaching me how to lift a gagra with balance.”
Adding a little more about the experience, Ritwik Bhowmik said, “Anand Sir has always been very encouraging and motivating. He always looked on the brighter side of things. But just this day, (Barcha and I) finished with a shot and he said “Haye mere bache kitna karaab karte ho tum log” I will never forget that day. He was serious and yet so funny!”
The “Maja Ma” The family really had a lot of fun while working on this film and we can’t wait to share the joy. Directed by Anand Tiwari, Maja Ma has a cast consisting of Madhuri Dixit, Gajraj Rao, Ritwik Bhowmik, Srishti Shrivastava and Barkha Singh in lead roles. Produced by Amritpal Singh Bindra, Maja Ma will premiere on October 6 exclusively on Prime Video.
