Capturing the young adult experience, the second season of Mismatched follows the characters’ individual journeys through frayed friendships, new love interests, old sparks and all the stress that comes with it. As seen in the trailer, the second season of Mismatched centers around a group of misfits from different walks of life, who attend a summer course in Jaipur. With their futures at stake, this lot deal with identity issues, bullying, mental health and body shaming as they struggle to truly find themselves.
The first season was widely loved for its reliability and lightness. Speaking about returning for a new season, director Akarsh Khurana said: “The second season of Mismatched is a world we created during a difficult time – it’s a world full of heart. This cast is a family and the response from the first season has left us all pretty blown away. We are grateful – and since then the only thing on our minds has been to come back with a season that is stronger, more emotional and more real. Our partnership with Netflix has always been fruitful and we are very happy to build another story with them.”
The Prajakta Koli and Rohit Saraf starrer also features Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Taaruk Raina, Rannvijay Singha, Vidya Malvade, Kritika Bharadwaj, Abhinav Sharma and Devyani Shorey, Priya Banerjee, Ahsaas Channa and Sanjanagaly, along with one who came from Khanagalai. plays Rishi’s father. The streaming giant will release the episodes on October 14, 2022.
