We are still sure that the moon is haunted. However, we also get a movie about the moon as a giant conspiracy theory and a disaster movie from the always fictional Roland Emerich called next month Moonfall. One could say something about the stories of Emmerich’s films and that they do not always come together in the end, but no one knows how to shoot disaster scenes and make them look better than Emmerich. The first five minutes of this movie have been released quite recently and Lionsgate will probably start pushing it as far as marketing is concerned very soon, as we are just over a month away from the release date. At the moment, they have released a new poster with an absolutely wonderful hyper-dramatic tagline.
Synopsis: In Moonfall, a mysterious force hits the Moon from its orbit around the Earth and sends it into a collision orbit with life as we know it. A few weeks before the crash and the world on the brink of extinction, NASA executive and former Astronaut Academy Award winner Jo Fowler (Halle Berry) is convinced he has the key to saving us all – but only one astronaut from her past, Brian Harper (Patrick Wilson, “Midway”) and a conspiracy theorist KC Houseman (John Bradley, “Game of Thrones”) believe her. These incredible heroes will carry out an impossible last mission in space, leaving behind all those they love, only to discover that our Moon is not what we think it is.
Moonfall, directed by Roland Emerich, stars Halle Berry, Patrick Wilson, John Bradley, Michael Penia, Charlie Plummer, Kelly You, Emme Iquoacor, Carolina Bartsak, and Donald Sutherland. It will be released on February 4, 2022.
