Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, who has seen a string of 6 flops in the last one year, is all set to revive his superstardom with yet another remake. Yes, we are talking about his upcoming untitled film Production No 27 which is an official remake of the Tamil film Soorarai Pottru (2020) for which superstar Suriya won the National Award for Best Actor.
Now, Akshay Kumar has officially confirmed that his next remake will not be a web series but a full length film for the audience. We have seen Akshay’s new film flopping one after the other from Bachchan Pandey, Cuttputlli and the latest Selfiee. Well, he has all hopes now from his next big film directed by Sudha Kongara.
As per the latest update, Akshay took to social media and wrote, “We are ready for take off! Production No. 27 (Untitled) is released in cinemas worldwide on September 1, 2023.”
Many will troll Akshay Kumar for his remake movies, but on the other hand, we see Ajay Devgn succeeding with remake movies like Drishyam 2 and probably Bholaa. So there is definitely a hope that Akshay will thrive again with his upcoming greatness.
Apart from Akshay, the other confirmed actors are Paresh Rawal and Radhika Madan. This movie is inspired from the life of Captain GR Gopinath, founder of Air Deccan. This film will be co-produced by Akshay’s mother, Aruna Bhatia, Jyotika, Suriya and Vikram Malhotra.
Well this news is big for Akshay Kumar and his fans and we hope this will be a game changer for him just like the movie Pathaan did for Shah Rukh Khan. The only concern I have here is that Soorarai Pottru was also released in Hindi as Udaan for the Hindi audience which is still there on the Amazon Prime Video OTT platform. So why will the audience see their own version of history. Let’s hope for the best and pray that it doesn’t turn out to be another Selfie moment for Khiladi!
