Upcoming Movies July: Book July Calendar: Action time with Vidyut Jammwal’s upcoming movies ‘Shamshera’, ‘Ek Villain Returns’ and ‘Khuda Haafiz 2’

The wait is over. The much awaited July 2022 movie calendar is here.

Various Hindi language movies are releasing this month (in cinemas and OTT platforms) to ensure that your viewing sessions don’t end.

Here’s a look at the movie you should book your ticket for in advance.

“Khuda Haafiz: Chapter 1 – Agni Pariksha”
When ‘Khuda Haafiz’ released in 2020, Vidyut Jammwal won a lot of praise and a lot of fans after his epic performance. Two years after its release, the second part of the film – “Khuda Haafiz: Chapter ll – Agni Pariksha” – releases on Friday (July 8).

Directed by Faruk Kabir, the film will also star Danish Husain, Shivaleeka Oberoi, Rajesh Tailang in the lead roles. Sheeba Chaddha and Ashwath Bhatt were the new entries joining the project.

“Shabaash Mithu”
The much-awaited biopic of former India women’s team captain Mithali Raj is all set to hit the theaters on July 15. Actress Taapsee Pannu will essay the role of Raj in the upcoming sports biopic. The actress had revealed that stepping into the shoes of the cricketer was a huge challenge.

The film depicts Raj’s journey to become a legendary cricketer and an inspiration to billions of people around the world. The film is directed by Srijit Mukherji and produced by Viacom18 Studios.

“Hit – The First Case”
Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra are gearing up for a box office clash with ‘Shabaash Mithu’. Dr Sailesh Kolanu directorial ‘Hit – The First Case’ is also slated to release on July 15.

The upcoming crime thriller is the official Hindi remake of the Telugu film of the same name. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Dil Raju, Krishan Kumar and Kuldeep Rathore – in association with Gulshan Kumar, T-Series and Dil Raju Productions.

‘Shamshera’
Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Shamshera’ will finally release on July 22. The film also stars Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt in pivotal roles.

Helmed by Karan Malhotra, ‘Shamshera’ is set in the fictional town of Kaza, where a clan of warriors are imprisoned, enslaved and tortured by a ruthless tyrannical general Shuddh Singh (played by Dutt).

Produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films banner, ‘Shamshera’ is set to release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

“Vikrant Rona”
The Kichcha Sudeepa starrer, originally a Kannada language film, will also release in Hindi on July 28. Directed by Anup Bhandari, the film also stars Jacqueline Fernandez in the lead role.

The action drama is produced under the banners Salman Khan Films, Zee Studios and Kichcha Creations. Shalini Manjunath, Jack Manjunath, Sudeepa and Khan are the producers.

“Ek Villain Returns”
The sequel to the 2014 film ‘Ek Villain’ finally releases on July 29. Directed by Mohit Suri, the thriller has a strong lead cast of John Abraham, Disha Patani, Tara Sutaria and Arjun Kapoor in pivotal roles.

With excellent producers Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar on board, the film is produced under the banners – T-Series and Balaji Motion Pictures.

“Good Luck Jerry”
The Janhvi Kapoor-starrer is a digital-only release on Disney+Hotstar. Director Sidharth Sengupta’s crime comedy drama is set to release on July 29. It is the official Hindi remake of the 2018 Tamil movie “Kolamaavu Kokila”.

It has been produced by Subaskaran Allirajah, Aanand L Rai and Mahaveer Jain under the banners – Lyca Productions, Color Yellow Productions and Mahaveer Jain Films.
