This is not a drill: Taylor Swift is officially in her director’s era.
The multi-hyphenated star is also set to direct the upcoming feature film, for which she wrote an original script to add, which means we’re going to be spending all our money on movie tickets from the release date.
Produced by Searchlight Pictures, the film group behind Wes Anderson’s indie classics and Oscar winners such as Black Swanwe already know that this movie will break the box office in more ways than one.
Speaking at the announcement, Searchlight Pictures president David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield said the film is an “exciting and new creative journey.”
“Taylor is an artist and storyteller for a generation. It is a genuine joy and privilege to work with her,” they added.

In typical Taylor Swift style, the star hasn’t really revealed what her upcoming feature film will be called. But fear not, we expect Taylor to leave a trail of clues, crumbs and Easter eggs hinting at the name along the way.
When is the Taylor Swift movie coming out?
So far, Taylor hasn’t teased when we can expect to see this blockbuster in theaters. However, if we were to do any police work, we can imagine that it won’t be released until at least 2024.
In November Taylor announced she was embarking on an international world tour, meaning that taking a few months in 2023 to film a future Oscar-winning production could be out of the question.
Moreover, considering the post-production, it is possible that we will have to wait a little for the release of the film. The anticipation is killing us.
