After the announcement of a new Star Wars movie, more details have emerged about where and when the movie will take place.

The Star Wars The franchise timeline is huge And every movie or series requires your nerdy friend (or you) to explain exactly where each installment is.

However, the latest addition to the saga seems to take a less complex approach.

According The Hollywood Reporter, the movie is going to be a standalone movie that will take place after the epic final battle Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019). This basically means that all the other series and movies happen before this new movie.

While it’s reiterated that it won’t necessarily be a sequel to the Skywalker Saga, it may feature characters from the final trilogy.

The film is set to be directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, who rose to stardom by directing two episodes of Ms. Marvel.

Screenplay by Damon Lindelof Lost and Guards fame and Justin Britt-Gibson who wrote episodes of it Corresponding and The strain.

Although there have been several successes Disney+ shows that have appeared in recent years, it will be the first feature film since 2019. Before that, there were five in five years.

It is speculated that the studio attempted to develop a similar strategy with the Miracle franchise that sees several properties a year hit the screens. However, they quickly abandoned this method.

Although Obaid-Chinoy’s film is still some way off, Andor is currently streaming Disney+ and there are many other projects coming soon including The Mandalorian season 3, Ashoka, Skeleton Crew starring Jude Law, The Follower and Lando.

There’s more apparently other films in the worksbut the status of these films seems to change regularly.
