Farhan Akhtar’s Don 2 turned ten on Thursday and to honor the occasion, the director took to Instagram to share a note about the film. He also shared a scene from the film with Shah Rukh Khan’s Don. Farhan wrote in his note that only SRK “could bring him this level of composure”.
He wrote, “10 years since Don returned to the screen and taught the bad guys a lesson on how to be the worst of them all.” Farhan added that “he really liked making this movie”, especially the opening series. Director Dil Chahta Hai thanked the cast, crew, action team, production team and post-production and various collaborators they had in the film. He also added, “Miss you Om-ji” in memory of the late actor Om Puri.
Don 2 was Farhan Akhtar’s last directorial venture. The actor-director, since then, has focused on acting, singing and his production within Excel Entertainment. Although Farhan is ready to return to the director’s chair soon with Jee Le Zaraa. Starring Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt, the film road trip was announced on the 20th anniversary of its production company in August.
At the time, Farhan shared: “I’m excited to announce my next film as a director and what a better day than 20 years of Dil Chahta Hai to make it. #JeeLeZaraa with @priyankachopra @katrinakaif @aliaabhatt will start shooting in 2022 and I can’t wait for this series to hit the streets. “
On the acting front, Farhan was last seen in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Toofan, which was released on Amazon Prime Video earlier this year.
