“The North”, directed by Robert Eggers, is one of the highs expected movies of the year. The epic adventure film is the director’s greatest film to date and has a starring cast: Alexander Skarsgard, Nicole Kidman, Anya Taylor-Joy, Ethan Hawke and Björk.
The film is inspired by Amleth, a Scandinavian legend who was also the inspiration behind the film Hamlet by William Shakespeare. Swedish actor Skarsgard, best known for his roles in productions such as “The Legend of Tarzan” or “Big Little Lies”, plays Amleth, a Viking prince who seeks revenge on the man who killed his father.

Northman Release Date: When will the film be released in the US?
While the film will be released in the UK on April 15, the United States will have to wait a little longer. The film will be released in North American theaters on April 22. So far, the reviews have been good and critics call the film “brutal”, “bold” and “visually breathtaking”, according to Rotten Tomatoes.
When will The Northman be available for streaming?
The movie has an exclusive window for cinemas. So that means there will be no streaming or VOD options for the first month, at least. It is common for a movie to be available for VOD for about three months after release in theaters and for streaming for about five or six months. However, the film is a Universal production, so it will most likely be available at Peacock in the USA.
