John Oliver confirms Julianna Margulies clip above Dwayne Johnson’s entire film career – Deadline

Between a consultation on the war in Ukraine and a detailed look at the justice system, Last week tonight Host John Oliver has managed to fit in with one of Hollywood’s biggest stars.

After playing a series of television lawyers appealing their client’s convictions, Oliver pointed out what he believed was the pinnacle of stellar, non-verbal acting and observed a short clip of Julianne Margulis from the acclaimed CBS legal drama The good wife.

“Let’s just recognize Julianna Margulies there, because she’s the protagonist at the moment, she does everything without anything at all,” Oliver remarked.

In the video, Margulies looks surprised after hearing the defense attorney claim that she will file an appeal.

The Emmy Award-winning host used this set-up to lead one of the film’s most recognizable action stars – Dwayne Johnson, claiming that her acting moment was more worthy than the two-decade-old The Rock film.

“Julianna Margulies is doing more in this three-second clip than The Rock has done in her entire film career. You heard me. I said what I said. “The rock has officially flooded,” said Oliver, while at the same time slapping his prop in relation to a previous joke.

Later in his episode, where he explained the intricacies of being acquitted of a crime he committed, even with clear evidence of innocence, Oliver uses his teaching time to repeat his praise for the three-time Emmy-winning actress.

“In general, innocence itself is not an issue that can be challenged. “So shocking that it can motivate you to go to the full Margulies,” Oliver said as he played the clip with the actress shaking her head. “He was in the background of this scene, giving that kind of commitment.”
