Kashmir files controversy at IFFI: Vivek Agnihotri announces sequel film in response to Nadav Lapid’s remark: Bollywood News

As the International Film Festival of India, held in Goa, came to a close, it started trending on various social media platforms. But, not for a good reason. For those unfamiliar, Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid, who was also the head of the jury at the event, criticized the screening of The Kashmir Archives while he called it a “propaganda, vulgar” film. While Anupam Kher and Pallavi Joshi criticized Lapid’s remark a day after the incident, now director Vivek Agnihotri has also broken his silence on the matter. Apparently, he has announced that he will The Kashmir Files: Unreported for the world to know “the whole truth”.

Speaking to Aaj Tak, the noted director said, “I am determined now and I am announcing… We have many stories, anecdotes, truths out of which we could make 10 films instead of one. But we decided to make only one film. But now, I have decided that I will get the whole truth out and its title will be The Kashmir Files: Unreported. Aur yeh main isi saal ke andar andar leke aunga, yeh maine aaj dridh nishchay karliya hai (I will bring it within this year, I am determined now).

Adding further, he asserted, “I will let everyone know very soon whether Unreported will be in the form of a web series or a documentary. I will reveal the whole truth. Now this issue is beyond art and is more about the reputation of this country. It is my moral responsibility that whatever information, evidence I have with me and what all the people have said, I bring it out and present it before the world so that they may know the whole truth.”

Apart from his statement on the portal, he had also shared a video on his social media handle in which he is heard saying, “I challenge all these urban Naxals and the legendary director who came from Israel that if they can prove any A single shot, event or dialogue is not entirely true, then I will stop making films.”
