Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has taken a look at recent high-budget films, adding that they only create awe and shock. In a new interview, Nawazuddin said that these are visual experiences and asked where the real cinema is. He added that he still feels that there has been no change and that superficial entertainment is superior to film skills. Nawazuddin also said that such high-budget films occupy cinemas, which made him wonder if low-budget films would hit theaters. Recently, high-budget films such as SS Rajamouli’s RRR and Prashanth Neel’s KGF Chapter 2 have hit theaters. KGF 2, released on April 14, won ₹134.50 crore on the opening day. Cross it ₹700 crore in global profits as it completed a week of its release. The RRR, released on March 25, was collected ₹246 crore at the box office in four weeks. He also entered the ₹1,000 crore clubs worldwide within 16 days of its release. Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files, released in March, became the first Hindi film to cross the ₹250 crore mark at the checkout. It is a small budget film starring Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumaar, Puneet Issar, Mrinal Kulkarni.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Nawazuddin declined when asked if the concept of the protagonist changes in commercial cinema. He also answered when asked about the role of the protagonist in Thackeray. He said, “I do not think it changes … I also played a protagonist in Manto, but how many people are there to see it? tarah ki image abhi hit ho rahi hain aisa lagta ke salahiyat gayi tel lene, yaha entertain karo aur surface surface ent ent karo logo ko
He also said that it is a struggle for “good, mediocre, low-budget films” to be released as only big-budget films are released. Speaking about such films, he added, “Such films dazzle and awe, that planes go into the water and fish are made to fly. They are visual experiences that I like to see, but where is the cinema? When you watch films like CODA, King Richard and some good movies at OTT, thank God OTT saved us, then you feel relieved that good movies are being made.I think kids like these shocking movies.A youthful mind is a progressive mind.We should have been more progressive after two years, but unfortunately it did not happen “.
Meanwhile, Nawazuddin will then appear in the action thriller Heropanti 2. The film, which is expected to be released on April 29, also includes Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria in the lead roles. Heropanti 2 introduces the character of Tiger, Babloo, who will be seen locking the horns with Nawazuddin’s Laila in an effort to stop cybercrime around the world. The film is written by Rajat Arora and directed by Ahmed Khan.
