New Delhi: “Rk / Rkay” tells the story of a restless director (RK) who has completed the shooting of his new film, but things do not look very good on the editing table.
As luck would have it, his worst nightmare comes true when he receives a disturbing phone call from the montage saying that the protagonist of the film jumped off the screen, taking control of the plot of the film. Mahboob is out of the movie – RK and his team has to find him and send him back to the movie.
Interestingly, while the release of Rajat Kapoor’s “Rk / Rkay” is a month away, the comedy has already been screened and appreciated at many international festivals, such as the Shanghai International Film Festival, the Florence River to River Festival, the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, Austin. Pune Film Festival and Pune International Film Festival.
Speaking about the film, Rajat Kapoor says “Rk / Rkay is an idea that has been with me for the last 10 years. It has slowly evolved to find its current form. It is a crazy film … and I mean at best “It means crazy. It is unconventional, it is eccentric and fun and it has a special taste. I look forward to sharing it with our audience.”
Partly funded by the labor of love crowd, “RK / Rkay” is the perfect cinematic piece for those looking for enjoyable entertainment. It is as original as possible.
