All the rumors about Sanjay Dutt being a part of Vijay’s upcoming film Thalapathy 67 turned out to be true. Severn Screen Studio, the makers of the gangster film, confirmed on Twitter that the Bollywood star is officially part of the Vijay starrer. The tweet read, “Feeling honored to welcome @duttsanjay sir to Tamil cinema and happy to announce that he is a part of #Thalapathy67 (sic).”
Along with the tweet, a poster of Sanjay Dutt was also revealed. Sanjay said in a statement, “When I heard Thalapathy’s one liner 67, I knew right then and there that I had to be a part of the film and I am excited to embark on this journey.”

The Bollywood actor made his Kannada debut last year with Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2 and Thalapathy 67 marks his foray into Tamil cinema.
The makers have also confirmed that Priya Anand, who is known for the film Ethir Neechal, is also a part of the film. She said, “Excited to be a part of Thalapathy 67. Looking forward to working with such an incredible cast and crew.”

Choreographer Sandy, who has also acted in the film 3:33, will be seen in Thalapathy 67. Talking about being a part of the Vijay film, Sandy said, “This is a very special feeling and very new to see myself as an actor in the most famous play Thalapathy 67 directed by our dear Lokesh Kanagaraj. Words cannot describe how excited I am to be sharing screen space with the one and only Thalapathy Vijay sir.” Sandy was recently praised for his performance in Varisu’s ‘Thee Thalapathy’ promo.
As we mentioned earlier, the manager Mysskin, who has established himself as a commendable actor with films like Onaayum Aatukuttyum and Super Deluxe, is also a part of Thalapthy 67. Talking about the project, the actor-director said, “21 years ago I worked as an assistant director for the film by Vijay. one thing that has changed over the years is the bond we share… I look forward to seeing you all in theaters with Thalapathy 67.”

The film will also star Mathew Thomas, who shot to fame with his first film Kumbalangi Nights. It will mark his debut in Tamil. The actor said he couldn’t have asked for a better debut in Kollywood.

Another addition to the cast is Mansoor Ali Khan. Lokesh said he was a fan of the actor and cast Kaithi with him in the lead role. He also paid tribute to Mansoor in Vikram by showing the song “Chakku Chakku Vathi Kuchi” from the 1995 film Asuran, which has become a hit with modern audiences.
Late on Tuesday, the makers also announced this director Gautham Vasudev Menon and actor Arjun Sarja will be a part of Thalapathy 67.

Meanwhile, the film’s crew along with Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj have landed in Kashmir for shooting. According to the passenger list, which is doing the rounds on social media, Trisha has also gone with the crew, confirming her presence in the film.
Thalapathy 67 is Vijay and Lokesh’s second collaboration after Master, which turned out to be a big hit. Anirudh Ravichander, who composed songs for Master, is teaming up with Vijay again in Thalapathy 67.
